Primary focus is setting up, managing, and driving drilling operations.
Staging for the drill. Work with local DOT and municipalities. Oversee the GC's/Subs/Drill Crews.
There is not yet an office, warehouse, yard or any other location in the market so they will be in the field, working from the vehicle 100% of the time. Must be able to be accountable and self manage.
Primary areas will be:
Novi, Plymouth, Livonia areas.
Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Conduct inspections of OSP construction sites to verify compliance with project specifications, design standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate construction activities, materials, and installations to ensure adherence to industry best practices and quality standards.
- Identify deviations from approved plans or specifications and recommend corrective actions to maintain project integrity and performance.
- Safety Monitoring:
- Monitor construction sites for adherence to safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), equipment operation, and workplace safety practices.
- Identify potential safety hazards and work with construction teams to implement corrective measures to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment.
- Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training in telecommunications, construction inspection, or related field is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in OSP construction inspection, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
- Thorough knowledge of OSP construction standards, practices, and safety regulations.
- Familiarity with fiber optic network infrastructure components, installation techniques, and testing procedures.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve construction-related issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment, including measurement devices, testing instruments, and documentation software.
- Certifications such as BICSI OSP (Building Industry Consulting Service International - Outside Plant) Technician or equivalent are desirable.
