In collaboration with the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, the Assistant Director of Evaluation provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all undergraduate application evaluation processes. This position is responsible for ensuring that evaluation practices are efficient, equitable, and aligned with campus and UC systemwide admission goals.
The Assistant Director oversees the comprehensive and transfer evaluation units, directing all activities related to application review, admission decisions, and quality assurance. The role provides high-level leadership in developing evaluation strategies, establishing performance metrics, and ensuring that all processes uphold the integrity of UC Riverside's admissions standards and the University's mission of access and excellence. Key responsibilities include leading the annual planning and execution of the evaluation cycle, managing staffing and resource allocation to meet campus enrollment targets, and coordinating cross-functional collaboration with recruitment, systems, and enrollment management partners. The Assistant Director also leads collaborative efforts with UCR's schools and colleges to ensure alignment between admissions decisions, academic program capacity, and enrollment priorities.
This position drives innovation in evaluation practices through the integration of data analytics, technology solutions, and continuous process improvement. Serving as a senior member of the Undergraduate Admissions leadership team, the Assistant Director represents UCR in systemwide committees, contributes to campus policy discussions, and provides strategic counsel to the Director on matters impacting admission review and decision-making.
The Assistant Director of Evaluation plays a vital role in ensuring that UCR's evaluation operations are accurate, timely, data-informed, and strategically aligned with broader campus and UC system enrollment objectives.
The full salary range for this position is $93,200 - $174,200 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $93,200 -$124,068 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.
