Public Area Attendant - Full-time

The Sonnenalp is seeking a Public Areas Attendant to help maintain the cleanliness, presentation, and overall guest experience throughout the property.

Wage: $20.00 - $22.00 /hour

Primary Purpose of Position

The primary purpose of this position is to ensure cleanliness of the Spa and Hotel Public Areas. Responsible for hands on work cleaning and maintaining the common areas assigned throughout the hotel and assist in all areas related to housekeeping.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ultimately responsible for cleaning the cleanliness of Spa & Hotel common areas
• Manage the delivery of robes and other guest request items
• Check the pool and spa area making certain that the linen is stocked and the area is clean and neat
• Clean hallways, dust, vacuum and check the cleanliness of the stairwells.
• Ensure hallways are clear of laundry carts, vacuums and armoires are closed properly.
• Transfer clean/dirty robes, towels, sandals and linen items to laundry.
• Remove all trash
• Replace cushions linen
• Clean windows, floors, doors, furniture, paintings, etc.
• Replace fruit baskets
• Clean restrooms and replace any supplies.
• Ensure closets are stocked with linen for the next day.
• Remove recyclable material and place in designated areas
• Adhere to Sonnenalp and LHW standards and use the guests name at all times
• Clean office and administrative areas
• Sweep and mop stairwells
• Help with various housekeeping or laundry duties as needed
• Any broken or non-working items in the public areas must be reported to Engineering

Education/Experience

• Minimum 16 years of age
• Prior housekeeping or turndown experience desired
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Special Skills/Equipment

• Duties are performed alone, but with constant interaction with other hotel employees and guests
• Must work as a team player with housekeeping staff and other departments
• Ability to work independently at times and take initiative to accomplish tasks
• High level of attention to detail

Essential Physical Requirements

This role involves demanding physical abilities including but not limited to:

• Must be able to stand for duration of shift
• Ability to lift, push, pull and carry a minimum weight of approximately 25 lbs and have the ability to carry up to 50 lbs of heavy linen
• Ability to kneel, bend, crawl
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Ability to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals
