The Cedarville University Campus Recreation Department invites applications for a Coordintor of Intramural and Club Sports. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position (1760 hours annually). The 10 month shedule will be mid July through mid May.
The Coordinator of Intramural and Club Sports coordinates, promotes, and manages all aspects of our comprehensive Intramural Sports program and supports our growing Club Sport teams.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the administration, implementation, and supervision of the overall Intramural Sports and Club Sports programs.
- Help plan, develop, organize, promote, and evaluate the intramural sports activities.
- Support and oversee the management of our Club Sport teams.
- Hire, train, schedule and evaluate 50-60 student employees working as Intramural Sports Officials, Intramural Score Keepers and Intramural Sports Supervisors.
- Create and maintain league and playoff schedules for all intramural sports competitions.
- Maintain team and player eligibility for all team sports as well as individual and dual sports.
- Ensure the safety of all participants involved in our intramural and club sport programs.
- Coordinate the preparation of the outdoor recreational facilities for intramural sports, club sports, and other recreation events.
NON- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Work with the Director to create, maintain and evaluate all program and facility policies.
- Recommend the purchase of recreational sports equipment and supplies.
- Help maintain the scoreboards in the field house and our portable tabletop scoreboards used in the gym.
- Conduct periodic program assessments to evaluate learning outcomes and participant satisfaction.
- Maintain the Intramural Sports web site and the Club Sport online manual.
- Meet regularly with Intramural Sports Supervisors and Club Sport officers.
- Resolve disputes, problems, and issues related to poor sportsmanship.
- Collect and analyze participant feedback to improve the program.
- Assist the Director in other functions of the Campus Recreation Office.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in physical education, recreation, sports/athletic management, management, communications, or related areas.
- Hold current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or earn them within the first three months of work.
- Previous experience and knowledge scheduling tournaments.
- Previous experience as a sports official and possess a good knowledge of sports rules.
- Knowledgeable of Microsoft Word/ Excel and Google Sheets.
- Good organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Availability to work primarily daytime hours with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by program needs.
