Salary: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Work Location: In-person (Greater Bay Area)
Available Shifts
- Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Swing Shift: 4:30 PM - 12:30 AM
- Grave Shift: 12:30 AM - 8:30 AM
Position Overview
Diligence Security Group is seeking dedicated Behavioral Social Services Armed Security Guards to serve at a leading adolescent behavioral and social services facility. As a Behavioral Social Services Armed Security Guard, you will play a vital role in fostering a safe and positive environment for adolescent clients with behavioral challenges. You will provide assistance, support, and security to clients, working closely with behavioral health professionals and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients in managing challenging behaviors and provide supportive intervention
- Monitor and de-escalate situations to prevent conflict and maintain safety
- Collaborate with behavioral health professionals on individualized care plans
- Conduct regular patrols and security checks to ensure site safety
- Respond to emergencies with appropriate intervention and care
- Document incidents accurately and maintain records
- Build positive relationships with clients and staff to foster a supportive environment
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher is a plus)
Experience:
- Previous experience in a behavioral health setting, as a youth correctional officer, or in a related field preferred
Skills:
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills
- Ability to remain calm and compassionate in challenging situations
- Knowledge of behavioral management techniques and crisis intervention strategies
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality
License/Certification Requirements
- BSIS Guard Card (Required)
- Exposed Firearm License (Required)
- Driver's License (Required)
- CPR Certification (Preferred)
- Baton Permit (Preferred)
- Pepper Spray Certification (Preferred)
Skills & Competencies
- Strong de-escalation and conflict-resolution skills
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet programs
- Strong active listening skills
- Professional, well-groomed appearance in uniform
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
- Ability to patrol site areas for prolonged periods
- Ability to bend, crouch, climb, or kneel as needed
- Ability to lift or adjust objects up to 100 pounds
- Safe operation of machinery, including motor vehicles and equipment
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions, noisy environments, and enclosed spaces
