DMI is a locally owned-operated machine shop serving regional and international customers, specialize in high-tolerance precision mill-turn machining of production jobs. We manage individual parts and assemblies, as well as jobs requiring additional vendors such as plating/anodizing, laser engraving, powder coating, sheet-metal, and plastic molding. We provide full in-house quality control, including CMM and first article inspection.

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Manufacturing Machine Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will operate, monitor, and maintain specialized manufacturing equipment used to prepare and finish industrial components. Your work will play a critical role in ensuring product quality, operational efficiency, and workplace safety.

As a Rotational Lining Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up equipment, monitoring production runs, performing routine maintenance checks, and ensuring all processes meet established quality and safety standards. You will also identify and troubleshoot minor mechanical or process issues to minimize downtime and maintain consistent output.

The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical aptitude, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. A proactive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement are essential for success in this role.

Compensation

$20–$30 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate shuttle-style rotational lining machine.
• Prepare, measure, and handle thermoplastic materials used in the lining process.
• Load and secure parts for processing.
• Monitor heating and rotation cycles to ensure consistent liner application.
• Inspect finished products to verify quality standards are met.
• Identify and address minor mechanical or process issues.
• Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all safety and operational procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school or apprenticeship in a related field preferred.
• 2+ years previous experience with machine operation in a manufacturing/production environment (preferred)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings or work instructions.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to safety, detail and quality standards

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks.
• Comfortable working in a noisy, industrial setting.
