Job Description
Objective: Provide exemplary service for customers by paying exceptional detail to the cleaning, preparation, and care of their garments, while also demonstrating a high level of respect for fellow employees and the production floor. Build, foster, and feed into a culture of positivity, service to others, and authentic relationships with customers and coworkers.
Essential Functions:
Dry Clean & Laundry: Sort all garments and household items appropriately in order to be cleaned using best practices according to the attached care labels. Manage the use of multiple industrial machines to complete the cleaning and drying of all customer items. Identify any stains or blemishes that remain after the general cleaning and utilize steam wands and specialized cleaning solutions to eliminate stubborn spots. Identify any damage or missing pieces (i.e., buttons, zippers, etc.) and give these to Quality Controllers or on-site Tailors as needed to repair. Sort the items and distribute evenly to the pressers.
Steam Press Operation: Adhere to the training and instruction of your Production Manager to safely and effectively steam-press customers’ clothing items. Ensure the highest level of quality on every garment that comes to your station, while managing time and output in order to meet or exceed your daily production quota. Note and report any spots, stains or damage to a Quality Controller or Cleaner as appropriate.
Quality Control: Inspect every garment to ensure the highest quality of cleaning and pressing before sending finished items to the Scanners. Identify any stains or blemishes that remain and utilize steam wands and specialized cleaning solutions to eliminate stubborn spots. Identify any damages or missing pieces (i.e., buttons, zippers, etc.) and repair these as you are able. For any repairs you cannot complete, give the item to an on-site Tailor.
Scanning: Receive all finished pieces and inspect for any missed spots, stains, or wrinkles. If any are found, notify the Quality Controller and send the item back to their station. Utilizing the scanner, locate and scan barcodes on customer items and hang them on the Metal Progetti conveyer. Pay close attention to the computer and respond immediately to any error messages.
Complete Wash/Dry/Fold Orders: Wash and dry customer items using provided cleaning products and utilities. Fold all laundry according to company specifications and package neatly in company laundry bags.
Equipment Maintenance: It is the responsibility of all employees to report any damage, malfunction, or inoperable machinery to the Production Manager immediately. If the Production Manager is unavailable, employees may report to the General Manager.
Common Area Cleaning: All employees will periodically be tasked with cleaning the common areas of the facility. This includes the breakroom and bathrooms, as well as the production floor. Immediately clean up any mess you make and be sure to restock any general use items that you empty (i.e., toilet paper, soap, etc.) Label and dispose of your personal food items as necessary and keep all other personal items in your locker during a shift. Only smoke in designated areas and properly dispose of cigarette butts.
Industry Knowledge: Over time, employees are expected to learn the differences among fabrics, including best practices for safely cleaning, pressing, and removing stains from all types of garments and fabrics.
Safety & Cleanliness: Always follow equipment operation and safety guidelines. Avoid distractions, phone calls, and texting while on the job. Utilize the designated walking areas to navigate the facility. Do not duck under railings and do not run within the facility. Maintain the cleanliness of your work area – no food or drinks (except water) are permitted at your station. Ensure that walkways are always free and clear in order to prevent trips or falls.

Dress Code:
- Company-branded T-shirts (provided by the Company).
- Pants, khakis, jeans, shorts, or skirts (provided by the employee).
- Closed-toe shoes. No sandals or flip-flops.
- Personal (without Company logo) outerwear, sweatshirts, or jackets are permitted if they are appropriate for the work environment.
Work Environment:
- Indoors, industrial setting.
- Medium to high noise level.
- Industry standard clothing racks throughout most of employee area.
- High-temperature environment, especially in the summer.
- High-temperature machine operation.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand continuously for up to 4 hours at a time.
- Ability to operate equipment requiring simultaneous hand and foot controls.
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs pounds, repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Ability to move continuously, including repeatedly bending, rotating and/or twisting.
- Ability to tolerate high environmental temperatures.
- Ability to repeat the same task(s) for the duration of a shift, without reducing quality or focus.
Position Status, Expected Hours:
- Full Time, 30 - 40 hours per week.
- Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 6:00 am* to 3:00 pm*.
- Hours will fluctuate throughout the week as needed to complete the daily workload. These tend to follow a weekly rhythm, but the schedule for each day is up to the discretion of the Production Manager.
- When working as a cleaner, the start time is two hours prior to other team members.
- Some Saturdays may be required throughout the year and will be communicated in advance.
- Overtime may be required during peak seasons and will be communicated in advance.
