Tooling Engineer 2 Salary Range: $35.00 - $53.00/ Hr.

The Tooling Engineer 2 (TE2) has an in-depth knowledge of cutting tools, toolholders, workholding, and other machine tool specific industrial supplies. The TE2 sees the world through the lens of a customer, both the shop owner/foreman and the front-line machine operator in order to provide superb technical support to clients, whether online, via e-mails, and/or in person. This uniquely broad perspective makes the TE2 invaluable in tooling/workholding product development for Haas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform Sample Review Tests of cutting tools and workholding for form, fit, and function, and thoroughly document it.
- Utilize CAD software to develop 2D blue prints and/or 3D solid models of tooling and workholding.
- Create technical details, such as feed/speed calculators and usage guides.
- Analyze technical material, such as schematic diagrams or engineering drawings, and work with management personnel to develop standards for new product development.
- Create new part numbers and specifications of e-commerce tooling.
- Provide technical support for tooling and workholding to end users.
- Collaborate with marketing, product development, and manufacturing departments to provide product recommendations.
- Keep abreast of developments in the Tooling industry by expanding networks and attending events.
- Prepare or assist in preparing scripts for videos in support of tooling and workholding.
- Develop prototypes and testing of new designs.
- Performs excel and VBA programming tasks as needed.
- Carry out quality assurance tests on new designs.
- Provide training to junior Tooling Engineers.
