Metal Fabricator

Position Summary

The Metal Fabrication Technician is responsible for grinding, repairing, and performing light welding on metal materials and fabricated products. This position supports production operations by ensuring metal components are repaired, finished, and prepared to meet G2 quality and safety standards.

Essential Job Duties

• Grind, smooth, and finish metal surfaces using hand tools and power grinders
• Repair damaged metal components, frames, and fabricated items
• Perform light welding (MIG and/or stick welding) as needed for repairs and fabrication
• Inspect materials for defects and ensure structural integrity
• Measure, cut, and prepare materials according to specifications
• Assist with basic fabrication tasks and shop support
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all G2 safety policies and procedures at all times
• Complete required equipment inspections prior to use
• Report safety concerns or equipment malfunctions immediately

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of metal fabrication processes
• Experience operating grinders and welding equipment
• Ability to read tape measures and follow basic measurements
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods
• Understanding of shop safety standards
• Forklift experience preferred (must follow company safety policies)
