Job Description
Join a dedicated medical team at a 61-bed not-for-profit community hospital located in the scenic southeastern Vermont. This facility is committed to delivering exceptional, compassionate, and patient-centered care to a rural population across Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. We are currently seeking a full-time Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO) to become part of our mission-driven medical staff.
Job Responsibilities- Provide direct medical care for hospitalized patients, including admissions, daily rounding, and discharges.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care.
- Collaborate closely with specialists, primary care providers, and ancillary services.
- Coordinate patient care plans and ensure smooth transitions of care.
- Order, interpret, and act on laboratory tests and imaging studies.
- Document all patient encounters and care plans in the EMR in a timely manner.
- Respond to medical emergencies, including codes and rapid response situations.
- Provide ventilator management.
- Participate in clinical rounds and interdisciplinary meetings.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Participate in hospital committees, quality improvement initiatives, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- No procedures required, and work with specialty backup available.
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal or Family Medicine.
- Active Vermont Medical License.
- DEA License (must be obtained prior to start).
- BLS and ACLS Certification.
- Ventilator management experience.
- Experience running codes.
- 2-3 years of Hospitalist experience (highly preferred).
- Rural health experience (highly preferred).
- Clean malpractice history.
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certification or Eligibility (Internal Medicine or Family Medicine).
- Active Vermont Medical License.
- DEA License (must be obtained before starting).
- BLS and ACLS Certification.
- Experience in ventilator management and running codes.
