Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects across low, medium, and high voltage systems (480V to 500kV+). This role oversees projects from initiation through commissioning, including both greenfield and brownfield installations. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in high voltage transmission and substation projects, along with proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams within a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
Position Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for the full lifecycle delivery of high voltage EPC projects, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety standards. This role serves as the primary liaison between clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams while driving successful project execution and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, execution, and delivery of high voltage transmission and substation projects
- Manage the full project lifecycle including design coordination, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and cost control reports
- Monitor scope, schedule, and budget performance, implementing corrective actions as needed
- Conduct site visits and progress reviews to ensure construction quality and safety compliance
- Coordinate and lead internal and external project meetings and reporting
- Identify project risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies
- Oversee contract administration, change management, and claims resolution
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, safety, and utility standards
- Promote continuous improvement, quality assurance, and strong client relationships
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- 7+ years of project management experience, including at least 3+ years leading high voltage transmission and/or substation projects
- Experience managing EPC project delivery models
- PMP certification preferred
- Working knowledge of substation and transmission line design, protection and control systems, and grid interconnection processes
- Experience using project management tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP, Procore, or similar platforms
- Understanding of utility and ISO processes, including interconnection, permitting, and energization
- Familiarity with construction methodologies, safety practices, and QA/QC procedures
