Job Summary
The Underground Damage Prevention organization manages the 811 or underground facilities locate request tickets. The reviewing process leverages information on the request ticket and GIS mapping information to determine if a field locate is necessary. AEP receives approximately 1.6 million facilities locate request annually electronically.Job Description
What You'll Do:
- Review locate ticket requests electronically.
- Comprehend and interpret symbology on AEP GIS Distribution Map and distinguish colors.
- Follow complex mapping directions. Maintain focus on continuous ticketing flow while sustaining quality and proportional quantity of work.
- Learn basic underground damage prevention laws.
- Provide minimal customer service to excavators and referring more complex issues to others as appropriate.

Education requirements are listed below:
High school diploma or GED.
Work Experience requirement listed below:
At least six months of post-high school experience in learning and utilizing administrative office procedures, practices and equipment
Pay Scale:
$18.87-$25.16/Hour
Damage Prevention Spec:

Work Experience requirement listed below:
Two (2) years of experience in damage prevention experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Work independently in a focused environment. Must demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills.
- Must demonstrate effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of AEP Ticket Management System.
- Knowledge of AEP GIS Mapping.
- Must be able to distinguish colors.
Pay Scale:
$22.14-$29.52/Hour
