American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an academic medical center, requiring NRP and AWHONN intermediate certification with cross-training to Mother/Baby and potential NICU float coverage.
Details- Labor & Delivery unit in a large academic medical center setting
- Facility handles approximately 2,000 deliveries annually across 8 private labor rooms, 4 private triage beds, and 2 OB operating rooms
- Patient population includes both low-risk (including certified nurse midwife-managed) and high-risk (maternal fetal medicine) cases
- Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
- Cross-training to Mother/Baby is expected, with potential float to NICU (feeders/growers)
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- EMR: Epic experience required
- Active VA RN license or compact license required; VA license pending will be accepted
- Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring, and AWHONN Intermediate
- Labor & Delivery RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Driver's license and Social Security card copies required for consideration
- OB OR roles require both circulate and scrub experience
- Up to 40 hours of RTO available per 13-week contract
- No radius rule — local candidates are welcome to apply
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must allow 12 months to pass before returning as a traveler
- Required certifications must be provided for consideration
