Concrete Crew Lead – IMMEDIATE OPENING!
Location: Durham, NC
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday 7AM-330PM – Starting in June 6AM-230PM
Pay: $28 - $32 per hour
We’re looking for a skilled Concrete Crew Lead to oversee and support a team performing maintenance, construction, and repair tasks across public infrastructure. If you’re an experienced operator with strong leadership skills and a passion for quality work, we want to meet you!
As the Concrete Crew Lead, you will:
- Oversee crews of Maintenance Assistants, Maintenance Technicians, and Equipment Operators.
- Perform and oversee concrete work, including forming, pouring, finishing, and repair.
- Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes and excavators (proficiency required).
- Drive dump trucks and haul materials to job sites.
- Coordinate work zones, follow DOT traffic regulations, and ensure the safety of the crew and public.
- Inspect equipment, perform basic maintenance, and report service needs.
- Complete work documentation, update maintenance logs, and track materials using a computer system
- Train team members and help implement qualitycontrol measures for field operations.
Minimum Requirements for the Concrete Crew Lead
- High school diploma or GED
- Clean drug screen
- Clean criminal background (unfortunately, no felony convictions)
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- 4+ years of concrete, dump truck, & heavy equipment experience
- 2 years of holding a leadership role within a construction crew
- Valid CDLB driver's license
- Proficiency with laptops/tablets for digital work orders
- Strong communication skills and the ability to train and lead a team
