Job Summary
Belt Power is seeking a Traveling Belt Technician to fabricate, install, and repair conveyor belting and related products in our shop and at customer locations. This role is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional who enjoys hands‐on work, frequent travel, and working directly with customers to deliver reliable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate, install, and repair conveyor belting and conveyor systems
- Travel to customer sites for field installations (ranging from a few hours to several weeks)
- Install and vulcanize lightweight conveyor belts
- Perform pre‐ and post‐installation coordination with sales reps and customers
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and service vehicle
- Receive, verify, and manage parts and materials
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA standards
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or defective equipment
- Complete service documentation and update internal systems
- Communicate professionally with customers to resolve issues and identify future service needs
- Evaluate customer inventory and recommend product improvements
- Participate in sales ride‐alongs to support service offerings
- Track installations, appointments, and follow‐ups
- Always represent Belt Power in a professional manner
- Wear required PPE and follow all safety regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in field service, maintenance, or mechanical work
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read basic mechanical drawings
- Proficient with tape measures and precise measurements
- Basic math and computer skills
- OSHA 10 Certification and Forklift License (required)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to operate large pickup trucks or vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights, and in confined spaces
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and travel overnight
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous belt technician or belt maintenance experience preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Highly organized, detail‐oriented, and adaptable
- Desire to learn and grow professionally
- Must pass a drug screen and background check
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work performed in a fabrication shop and at customer sites
- Moderate noise levels and use of heavy equipment
- PPE required
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and manual tool use
Schedule
- Full‐time
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Frequent overtime, overnight travel, and occasional weekend work
