Software Test & Evaluation Specialist

BreakPoint Labs is seeking a Software Test & Evaluation Specialist to plan, prepare, and execute testing, evaluation, verification, and validation of software in Fort Meade, Maryland. This role ensures that developed capabilities meet all specifications, requirements, and operational needs before deployment.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Conduct unit, integration, system, and acceptance testing to identify and report defects.
• Evaluate software performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Verify that software meets all functional and non-functional requirements, including security, usability, and accessibility.
• Validate that software meets operational needs, including conducting user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Develop and maintain test environments, test data, and test scripts.
• Conduct testing against various hardware, operating systems, software versions, and environments.
• Provide detailed test results and recommendations to stakeholders.

Required Experience:

• 5+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer or Test Engineer.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Java, and C/C++, or other low-level languages.
• Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools, including Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD.
• Proven experience developing and maintaining comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Experience with testing frameworks and automation tools for conducting a full range of software testing, including unit, integration, system, and acceptance testing.
• Demonstrated ability to identify, document, and report software defects.
• Experience evaluating software performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Experience verifying that software meets all functional and non-functional requirements, including security, usability, and accessibility.
• Experience validating software against operational needs, including conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Experience developing and maintaining test environments, test data, and test scripts.
• Experience conducting testing against various hardware, operating systems, software versions, and environments.
• Experience providing detailed test results, reports, and recommendations to stakeholders.

Certifications Required: Security+ Continuing Education (CE) [CompTIA] and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) [EC-Council], Pentest+, CCSP

Security Clearance Required: Top Secret / SCI

Education Level required: Bachelor’s Degree; Area(s) of Study Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering
