Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Truck Body and Equipment Installer Technician with Welding Experience to join our team. This role is responsible for the installation, modification, and repair of truck bodies, equipment, and related components. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and welding skills, the ability to read technical drawings, and experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and assemble truck bodies, hoists, liftgates, toolboxes, service bodies, dump bodies, flatbeds, cranes, plows, and other equipment according to manufacturer specifications and customer requirements.
  • Perform wiring, hydraulic, and mechanical connections to ensure proper function of installed equipment.
  • Modify or fabricate parts as needed to complete installations.
  • Inspect and test installed components to verify safe and proper operation.
  • Diagnose and repair issues with equipment, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent on jobs.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and shop machinery safely and effectively.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding project status.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in truck body installation, automotive, heavy equipment, or related mechanical field.
  • Proficiency with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Welding and fabrication skills required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various positions (standing, kneeling, overhead).
  • Valid driver’s license.
