CORA's Mission Support Division is seeking a Full-time Safety Officer to provide safety and security related functions, as well as facilities duties, in an outpatient behavioral healthcare setting to ensure client, staff and visitor safety.
Work Schedule:
The Full-time schedule is Monday - Thursday from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Fridays from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Compensation: $20.40/hour

In addition, as a Safety Officer some of your duties will include:
- Initiate positive interactions with clients and visitors in an effort to maintain a welcoming, safe and secure environment.
- Establish trust and serve as a steady, supportive, and calming presence for staff and clients.
- Maintain visibility to clients, visitors and staff at the Front Desk and in public/common spaces and services areas.
- Support the Receptionist in providing courteous and knowledgeable assistance, stepping in to cover reception duties as needed to provide seamless coverage.
- Anticipate and address client/visitor concerns before they escalate.
- Conduct proactive safety and security patrols throughout the facility and parking areas.
- Monitor security cameras and respond to issues as needed.
- Respond to urgent or emergency situations in a way that minimizes trauma to the client and staff members and results in stabilization.

- Provide assistance as requested to clinical staff in the care and safety of clients, staff or visitors who are uncooperative.
- Respond to calls for assistance in a professional manner in accordance with agency standards and guidelines with respect to age-specific guidelines and competencies.
- Uses verbal and/or de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts.
- Perform physical restraint techniques when there is imminent threat to the health and/or safety of self or others, and only as a last resort safety measure.
- Respond to disruptive situations as needed (angry visitors, suspect person, etc.) as an interim measure prior to calling law enforcement.
- Provide assistance when a violation or expected violation of the agency Weapons-Free Workplace Policy occurs.

- Work on assigned tasks in the facilities department, as needed.
- Perform end-of-day closing procedures, including securing the facility, locking doors, and ensuring the building is properly shut down in accordance with company protocols
- Follow and enforce safety, security and emergency response procedures.
- Document and report any unsafe conditions, security violations, or related incidents.
- Provide escort service for clients, staff, and visitors, as needed.
- Prepare and complete all mandatory and recommended training programs as per departmental guidelines.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma/GED required.
- 1+ year experience in a similar role strongly preferred.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, clients and visitors.
- Ability to remain calm during high stress events and handle unpredictable crisis situations.
- Strong verbal de-escalation skills.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care.
- Training and experience in physical restraint techniques in a therapeutic setting.
- CPR certification, or willingness to complete training within 90 days of hire.
- Must maintain physical fitness standards based on the physical demands of the job; position includes frequent standing, walking and climbing stairs, lifting, getting on/off the ground or floor.
- May be subject to adverse and hazardous working conditions, including violent and physically aggressive acts of others.
- Ability to maintain high confidentiality.
