Sr. Business Analyst - Full-time

Location: Onsite – Downtown Washington, DC (5 days/week)
Contract: Through December 2026 (Strong potential for 2027 renewal)

Transform a Legacy System into a Modern Cloud-Based Platform

We’re seeking a high-performing Senior Business Analyst to help drive the modernization of a mission-critical examiner workflow tool. This initiative will replace a legacy system with a scalable, cloud-based solution leveraging AWS services.

You won’t just document requirements — you’ll shape product direction, align stakeholders, and help deliver a modern web-based platform that improves efficiency, transparency, and long-term sustainability.

What You’ll Own

• Partner with the Product Owner and development team to define and refine a shared product vision
• Lead requirements elicitation sessions with stakeholders across business and technical teams
• Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria
• Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies
• Ensure alignment between stakeholders, development, and leadership throughout the product lifecycle
• Support continuous improvement of workflows and system functionality
• Serve as a trusted advisor during development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance

What You Bring

• Extensive experience (Senior-level) in business analysis within Agile application development environments
• Proven success working on web-based UI and data-driven application projects
• Deep expertise in eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and managing both business and system requirements
• Strong experience writing user stories and facilitating backlog refinement sessions
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (writing samples may be requested)
• Recent experience where at least 80% of your responsibilities focused on core Business Analyst functions
