What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?
Warehouse Stockers are responsible for the organization of merchandise and goods throughout each department to ensure that order selectors have the items they need to keep production moving smoothly. Warehouse Dock Workers are tasked with safely building pallets of product that will ship out to our customers. Each of these positions are responsible for ensuring the required tasks are accomplished in an efficient and safe manner while maintaining a neat and organized workspace.
What is the direct impact of this role on the team or organization?
These are critical roles as they are responsible for the handling of all incoming and outgoing goods ensuring they reach their final destination for storage or delivery. They are at the core of the warehouse operation and ensure all daily activities are accomplished within a reasonable timeframe. The safe handling of goods (both incoming and outgoing) supports the reduction of damages, reducing overhead and operating costs.
ACCOUNTABILITIES- Effectively use barcode scanners
- Quickly read, understand, and identify established location designations
- Breakdown Pallets in a Systematic Fashion to Facilitate Proper Inventory Management
- Build and Organize Pallets, Including Taping, and Shrink Wrapping for Effective Storage
- Build and organize pallets; with consideration to product weight, shape, size, and material
- Work Long Hours, Including Overtime, as the Business Dictates
- Ability to Work Weekend Shifts as Needed
ESSENTIAL
Characteristics & Experience Required
- Previous Experience Working in a Warehouse Environment
- Comfortable working in an environment containing tobacco and nicotine items
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Self-directed and Proactive
- Team Player
- Electric Pallet Jack Experience – Preferred for Dock Workers
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to visually inspect and manipulate a wide variety of packaging
- Ability to twist and pivot comfortably without restriction
BENEFICIAL
- Knowledge of various convenience retail goods
- Experience using warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc...) – Preferred
- Forklift Experience - Welcomed
Required qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- 18 years or older
- Able to comfortably lift 50 lbs
