Job Title: Mechanical Technician – Light Diesel
Location: Hermiston, Oregon (Shop-based, with regional travel in NE Oregon & SE Washington)
Department: Pacific Ag Carriers – Transportation
Reports To: Transportation Manager
Job Type: Full-Time
Are you a skilled mechanic with a passion for diesel vehicles and heavy equipment? Pacific Ag Carriers is looking for a Mechanical Technician – Light Diesel to help maintain and service our fleet of diesel semi-trucks and large logistical equipment. Based out of our Hermiston, Oregon shop, this full-time position plays a key role in ensuring our fleet stays reliable, safe, and on the road.
What You’ll DoPerform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel semi-trucks, trailers, and related equipment
Diagnose mechanical issues and efficiently perform necessary repairs
Inspect, clean, lubricate, and service vehicle components
Install replacement parts and assist with fleet modifications
Keep shop tools and areas organized and stocked
Document work completed and communicate with management on fleet needs
Occasionally support field operations across NE Oregon and SE Washington
High school diploma or GED required; technical training a plus
1–3 months of mechanical experience, or equivalent education/training
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
(Class A CDL with doubles endorsement preferred)Knowledge of diesel and gas vehicle systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics
Skilled in troubleshooting and using hand/power tools
Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Monday–Saturday schedule - Split Days Off: Sunday + a choice of Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, with occasional evenings/weekends/holidays
