SIMEDHealth is looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Part Time Medical Assistant to join our dedicated team in our Rheumatology clinic in our Ocala office. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the efficient flow of our clinical operations. Your commitment to customer service, safety, and professionalism will directly impact the patient experience.

What You'll Need:

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or National Certification (preferred)
• Current BLS/CPR certification (required)
• Previous experience (1-2 years) using electronic health records (preferred)
• At least one year of experience in a private medical office or hospital setting (preferred)
• Bilingual abilities are a plus!

• Ensuring accurate and complete patient information is readily available in their electronic medical records.
• Welcoming patients to the exam room and efficiently documenting their vital signs in the EHR.
• Serving as a key point of contact for medication refill requests, coordinating between patients and providers.
• Administering prescribed medications (injections, oral, topical) according to your training and qualifications.
• Skillfully assisting with and performing various patient procedures (EKGs, spirometry, dressings, wound care, etc.) based on your expertise and clinic needs.
• Triaging patient phone calls with care and providing helpful responses to their medical inquiries.
• Proactively assisting patients with the often-complex process of referrals and authorizations for procedures and surgeries.
