Groundskeeper- Seasonal - Full-time / Part-time

Job Summary: The Landscaper will assist in the maintenance of the farm and help as needed with maintaining research plots as well as assisting in running experiments on the farm during the assigned season.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in agriculture or turfgrass highly preferred.
• High School Diploma required.
• 1-2 years of experience with Turf and Ornamentals and operating equipment is preferred.
• Ability to operate mowers, trimmers and other farm machinery.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Ability to operate mowers, trimmers and other farm machinery.
• Maintain (i.e. mow / spray / treat) turf plots
• Maintain (i.e. mow / spray / treat) ornamental plots
• Maintain greenhouse by assisting in repairs, power-washing floors or changing cooling pads
• Assist with irrigation repairs
• May perform sprays with either a 1 gallon / 3- or 5-gallon backpack sprayer
• May be asked to assist in trimming of ornamentals and plant beds
• Performs other duties as assigned 

Physical Requirements: 

• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors or indoors in seasonal temperatures and conditions

 Travel Requirements: 

This role requires occasional travel across the local area to gather supplies. This role requires an active and valid license.
