PACU Nurse

Registered Nurse (RN) Pre-Op/PACU /PRN as needed

Schedule: 2-3 days per week l Monday-Friday

Hours; 7:30 am-4:00 pm l No weekends l No holidays l No Benefits

Pay: $38-$40/hour based on experience

Full job description

• Obtain and review perioperative (pre-op) clearance including H&P, lab results, diagnostic testing, and documentation from primary care or referring providers.
• Conduct pre-operative patient teaching via phone and in person.
• Complete pre-operative admission assessments on the day of procedure.
• Initiate and manage IV access.
• Provide comprehensive PACU care including monitoring airway, vital signs, pain control, and post-anesthesia recovery.
• Deliver clear discharge education to patients and families following GI procedures.
• Coordinate care to promote optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction.
• Assist during emergency situations and medical interventions as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Serve as a professional representative of the surgery center in all interactions with patients, families, physicians, anesthesia providers, and staff.

Requirements

• Active Georgia RN license or Compact RN license
• Strong IV skills
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and patient education skills

Preferred Qualifications (PLUS)

• Six months to two years of experience in the Pre-Op and/or PACU
  
• Experience in an outpatient surgery center
• ACLS
• Experience using ECW (eClinicalWorks)
