TRC is searching for a motivated Electrical/Controls Process Engineer to join our client’s home office engineering group and lead electrical and controls processes across multiple manufacturing facilities. This role includes responsibility for power distribution, electronic controls on machinery, and overall process support in a heavy, discrete manufacturing environment.
Position Overview:
The Electrical Controls Process Engineer will design, develop, install, and maintain equipment used to power, monitor, and control industrial systems, machinery, and processes. You will oversee equipment specification, layout design, quality, and efficiency while providing technical support and guidance to manufacturing plants. The role requires up to 75% travel to facilities across multiple states.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to facility maintenance teams on electrical/electronic systems.
Test, troubleshoot, and diagnose equipment including PLCs, drives, and motors.
Write and modify PLC programs and maintain electrical schematics/drawings.
Conduct arc flash studies and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Analyze electrical components to improve system reliability and reduce risk.
Support special projects including equipment selection, controls recommendations, and installation.
Manage project workflow to meet performance and budget targets.
Consult with equipment suppliers and perform research and development on new processes.
Implement predictive and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (ABET-accredited).
3+ years’ experience in industrial manufacturing; experience with PLCs, CAD, AC/DC drives, and Lean Manufacturing practices.
Strong troubleshooting skills with foreign (Italian/German) production machinery preferred.
Experience with CMMS software preferred.
Proven ability to lead electrical/process controls across multiple facilities.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
