Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract position offers the unique opportunity to serve in a general education discipline with a focus on special education, working with a 5th/6th grade combination class. You’ll collaborate with fellow educators and families in a diverse, close-knit community while helping students achieve their best.

What You'll Need:

  • Active California teaching credential required
  • BILA authorization (formerly BCLAD) strongly preferred
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish is a must
  • Experience in special education settings, particularly with combo classes, is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity
  • Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs

What You'll Do:

  • Teach a 5th/6th combo class, providing individualized instruction and supporting differentiated learning
  • Develop and adapt lesson plans and classroom materials for students with varied educational backgrounds
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment that supports bilingual learners
  • Use allotted planning time (6.5 hours/week) to create engaging, personalized lesson plans
  • Participate in team meetings, collaborate on IEPs, and partner with families and colleagues
  • Track student progress and report effectively to ensure each child’s growth and success

Compensation for this position ranges from $35.34 to $50.34. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
