Sign Production Technician

Metro Engineering Solutions (MES) is looking for a Traffic Sign Designer to join our team! MES is a multifaceted utility and telecommunications engineering firm serving clients throughout the Midwest. The Sign Production Technician is responsible for working effectively in a variety of computer systems and software applications while providing internal and power utility clients with utility design services and solutions needed to accurately create traffic signs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Produce Traffic Control Signs from start to finish
• Operate and maintain wide-format plotters, rollover tables, laminators, and other production equipment.
• Apply vinyl to various sign substrates using proper alignment and finishing techniques.
• Assist with field installation and inspection of temporary and permanent traffic control signs as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in both shop and field settings.

• Proficiency with vinyl cutting/printing, computer software's, and plotter operation.
• Familiarity with rollover tables and their use in sign construction is highly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret sign plans, traffic control layouts, and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of Temporary Traffic Control standards is a plus.
• Comfortable working in a shop setting and occasionally outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• OSHA or other relevant safety certifications are a plus.
