About the Role
Sagemont Preparatory School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Science Teacher to join our collaborative team in supporting our high school students. As a Science Teacher, you will guide students in mastering skills through engaging and innovative lessons. You will be responsible for creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that fosters academic growth and personal responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach Science courses
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary approaches to Science instruction.
- Maintain an orderly, engaging classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
- Employ positive classroom management techniques, encouraging student responsibility.
- Regularly monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and guidance.
- Mentor students, promoting academic achievement and personal development.
- Foster strong relationships with parents, proactively engaging them in their child’s education.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 2+ years of teaching experience at the middle or high school level.
- Strong ability to present concepts with clarity and confidence.
- Commitment to building supportive relationships with students both in and beyond the classroom.
- A collaborative spirit, sense of humor and willingness to roll your sleeves up to help wherever and whenever needed
- Ability to pass both state and federal background check
