Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and EPA-certified Maintenance Technician to join an apartment community’s maintenance team. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, excellent customer service, and hands-on experience in all areas of apartment maintenance. This role supports daily maintenance operations, ensures timely completion of work orders, and contributes to maintaining the overall quality and safety of the property.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs
Perform daily service requests/work orders including plumbing, electrical, HVAC troubleshooting, appliance repair, carpentry, and general maintenance
Diagnose and repair issues in occupied units and vacant units
Complete make-ready tasks to ensure units are move-in ready
Conduct HVAC system troubleshooting and repair within EPA guidelines
Install, repair, and maintain appliances, lighting fixtures, locks, doors, garbage disposals, water heaters, and other apartment components
Preventative Maintenance
Perform seasonal and preventative maintenance on HVAC units, appliances, and building systems
Identify potential issues and address them before they become major repairs
Maintain maintenance logs, service request systems, and inventory
Safety & Compliance
Follow all OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies
Ensure chemical handling, refrigerants, and equipment use comply with safety requirements
Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop
Customer Service
Provide professional and courteous communication with residents, staff, and vendors
Respond to emergency/on-call needs when scheduled
Support the Maintenance Supervisor and property management team
Qualifications & Requirements
EPA Certification required (Type I or II)
1–3+ years of multifamily/apartment maintenance experience preferred
Strong technical skills in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, and general maintenance
Ability to troubleshoot independently
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
CAMT certification (optional)
Experience with work order systems (Yardi, RealPage, Entrata, etc.)
Strong unit turn/make-ready experience
