Job Title: Inventory Clerk
Department: Procurement/Supply Chain
Classification: Full-time, on-site, hourly, non-exempt
Reports to: Procurement Supervisor
Shift Responsibilities: Mainly day shift, nights and weekends as needed
Overview
As an Inventory Clerk, you will play a key role in supporting the receiving, upkeep, and management of Suntado ingredients and packaging materials. The primary focus of this role is to support inventory accuracy and material availability through cycle counting, documentation review, and system transactions. This position works closely with the warehouse team to develop and strengthen systems that drive efficiencies, improve controls, and support production needs. This position shares responsibility for maintaining Suntado’s food safety, quality and legality program under the BRC/GFSI/PCQI guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Control & Cycle Counting
- Conduct daily, weekly and monthly cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy for ingredients and packaging materials.
- Research variances, document findings, and communicate discrepancies to leadership in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate inventory transactions and records within the ERP system (receipts, adjustments, transfers, and usage).
- Coordinate with production, quality, and purchasing teams to support daily operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and storage environment
Receiving Documentation & Auditing
- Audit ingredient Bills of Lading (BOLs) and receiving documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with receiving, staging, and organization of ingredients and packaging materials.
- Verify materials are properly labeled, stored, and rotated per internal procedures.
- Label, store, and organize materials in compliance with food safety and GMP standards
- Assist with lot tracking, traceability, and documentation required for audits and recalls
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Work closely with the warehouse team to develop and improve systems that drive efficiency and reduce errors.
- Act as a problem solver by identifying gaps, sharing ideas, and helping implement practical solutions.
- Support implementation of plans that are directed by leadership and own improvement actions when opportunities are identified.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Follow GMPs, food safety, and sanitation standards at all times
- Maintain proper storage conditions for packaging materials
- Assist with audits (internal, customer, FDA, SQF, etc.) by providing inventory documentation
- Identify and report damaged, expired, or non-conforming materials
- Immediately report and escalate any deviation from food safety and quality programs.
- Always maintain work area in audit-ready condition.
- Support all departments to remedy issues with urgency.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required; college preferred but not required.
- Knowledge and understanding of ERP systems preferred.
- Previous experience in inventory, warehouse, receiving, or manufacturing environments is a plus.
Skills & Abilities
- High attention to detail required.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft programs, primarily Excel.
- Strong organization skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. repeatedly for periods of up to one hour. Stand, walk, bend, and move continuously throughout a 12-hour shift in a fast-paced production environment.
