About this job

SUMMARY:           

Responsible for directly supervising Guest Room Attendants and House persons in assigned areas; for inspecting rooms and hallways for cleanliness and maintenance; and for completing the required paperwork in their area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts visual inspection of the rooms to ensure that these are properly cleaned and stocked with correct guest room amenities.
  • Coordinates with other departments regarding matters related to housekeeping.
  • Promotes positive customer service by assisting guests with their requests and resolving their complaints and problems.
  • Coordinates with Front Desk regarding guest occupancy status and updates the Attendants on rooms that are due out.
  • Coordinates with Engineering regarding the repairs needed to be done in the rooms.
  • Maintains cleaning supply inventory ensuring supplies are available at all times.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Directs and oversees the activities of the housekeeping personnel to ensure the cleanliness of the hotel at all times.
  • Schedules the work assignments, shifts, breaks and lunches of the housekeeping personnel to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Distributes the keys to the Guest Room Attendants based on floor assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must have at least six (6) months related experience and/or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to effectively communicate in English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

COMPUTER SKILLS

Must have Microsoft Office experience and basic computer skills.
