American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg (Adult) day shift position in Maine, requiring an active ME or compact RN license and a minimum of 1 year of experience.

- Hospital-based Med/Surg unit serving an adult patient population \n
- Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM \n
- 13-week contract \n

- Active Maine RN license or compact license currently in hand \n
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required \n
- BSN preferred \n
- Current, unexpired BLS/BCLS required; ACLS preferred \n
- Required immunizations: Varicella (2 doses or titer), Hep B (3 doses, titer, or signed declination), MMR (2 doses or titer), Tdap, and PPD 2-step or titer within the past 12 months \n
- Flu shot required during flu season \n
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, reaching, and pushing patients in wheelchairs and stretchers \n
- Visual and hearing acuity sufficient to assess patients \n
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and verbal/written communication skills \n
- DOB and SSN required for consideration \n

- Perform age-appropriate nursing assessments, reassessments, and discharge planning across all age groups \n
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and physician orders \n
- Administer medications using med verify and evaluate patient responses \n
- Communicate and collaborate with the healthcare team including participation in MDT meetings and bedside rounding with hospitalists and case managers \n
- Conduct patient and family education and provide follow-up calls post-discharge \n
- Document patient care activities in accordance with established hospital policies and standards \n
- Participate in hospital-wide Quality Improvement initiatives and emergency/disaster preparedness planning and drills \n
- Traveler reports to Human Resources on day 1 for onboarding \n
- Possible exposure to infectious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and toxic cleaning chemicals \n
