Paint Staff

Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following full-time position: Paint Staff in the Department of Facilities & Planning Management.

The Painters are responsible to complete the daily work orders that are issued to facilities on a daily basis. They are responsible to touch-up/repaint in all the buildings for the university. They complete painting on renovation projects, athletic fields, parking lots and painting for special events.

Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent and experience in a related field. Must possess and keep a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in the painting.Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for preparing areas/surfaces for painting.
• Calculate the materials and labor that is required for a project. Determine the type of paint/stain that is required for the job.
• Select appropriate equipment and supplies from vendors as required.
• Assist the Supervisor, Paint Shop with the field painting for Athletic Practice/Playing Fields and parking lots.

Trades Specialist IV (KC40/61122637/FTE-S01120P), full-time position with benefits. . Salary range: $39,300.00 (minimum) – $53,100.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Friday 6:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Must have an understanding of the different types of painting materials and equipment that are utilized with repairs, renovations and construction projects. Provide oral, written and computer skills. Must be able to proficiently operate computers, calculators, copiers, telephones, pressure washer, paint sprayer, various hand tools, ladders and vehicles.
