LocationOur West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.
Job SummaryThis is manual work in the custodial care of institution buildings and facilities. Work involves the performance of cleaning and minor maintenance work in an assigned building(s) or building area. Primary responsibility is for the effective use of proper methods and materials in cleaning and caring for building areas and equipment. Employees in this class work under close supervision and work follows well established routines and procedures.
Sponsorship is not available for this position.
ResponsibilitiesSweeps, mops, scrubs, buffs and waxes floors.
Dusts and cleans chalk boards, window blinds, and offices.
Washes windows, walls, trash cans, glass doors and classroom equipment.
Cleans restrooms and replenishes supplies.
Cleans and polishes drinking fountains.
Runs polishing machine and vacuum cleaner.
Moves office and dormitory furniture and equipment.
Cleans baseboard around the corner of each room and hallway.
Cleans and polishes brass, and unstops lavatories and toilets.
Empties trash and sweeps outside walks.
Reports damaged structures and equipment.
Reports any building related issues.
Performs other duties as required.
Weekend and after normal hours duties will be required.
Required Qualifications1 year of custodial training, education or experience.
Must possess a valid driver's license in good standings.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and work long hours at manual tasks
This position will require some evening and weekend work.
Proposed SalarySalary range is from $20,000 to $27,000.

Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesAbility to make minor repairs and adjustments to building fixtures and equipment.
Ability to follow routine oral and written instructions.
Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials for different types of building surfaces.
Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment
Ability to work long hours at manual tasks.
Ability to read, comprehend and understand chemical instruction.
Ability to demonstrate cleaning methods, material and equipment used
Ability to demonstrate the process of stripping, waxing and buffing floors
Skills to work independently and as a team player
Ability to provide writing documentation of building deficiencies
