Scope of Position
Under the direction of the Assistant or Associate Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Manager acts in a front-line supervisory role for infusion and ambulatory surgery pharmacies, sterile product operations, pharmacists, and pharmacy technician manager. This position leads and manages operations and clinical services provided by the non-oncology and ambulatory surgery pharmacies as well as the IV Infusion Hub. In this role, the Pharmacy Manager maintains functional expertise and provides patient care, participates in appropriate hospital and/or departmental committees; and provides supervision to pharmacy technicians and technician manager, pharmacists, and pharmacy student interns in their respective area of the department.

The Pharmacy Manager responsibilities can be further summarized as follows:
- Provides oversight, hiring, orientation and evaluation of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy technician managers, pharmacy interns, and pharmacy residents
- Participate in appropriate hospital and/or departmental committees
- Identifies and resolves service problems
- Conducts research in pharmacy practice
- Assists with the financial management and budgeting of the department
- Participates in developing and implementing the department strategic plan
- Provides on-line staffing as required
- Participates and leads the implementation of new technology to improve services, patient care, patient safety, and educational opportunities for staff and students
- Identifies, implements, and monitors services within area of scope that guide and support the provision of high-quality cost-effective pharmaceutical care
- Identifies and monitors service-related metrics
- Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation agencies for areas of oversight
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy. Registered Pharmacist. 3 years of relevant experience required. 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
