SummaryProvides leadership and oversight of strategic plan development, operational performance, and clinical direction for LPG primary care division. Responsible for growth of primary care division including identifying M&A targets, recruiting clinicians and expanding into new locations. Partners with the Chief Admin Officer and other Senior Executives to provide analysis, coordination, and implementation of approved strategic projects, assess and oversee potential acquisitions and joint ventures, and review other business opportunities that meet Lee Health Strategic initiatives. Serves as a resource when needed to strategy leaders in the development of proformas, projects, and evolving strategic initiatives. Responsible for developing and implementing Performance Excellence initiatives across all supporting areas. Executes Strategy Deployment, analyzes the internal and external environments, stays current on relevant industry changes, develops and implements short and long-term business strategies for assigned service lines, and builds relationships with key stakeholders. Interfaces with external entities to identify, adapt, and work collaboratively to leverage best practices while developing and improving systems within PCP services that drive operational excellence. Works with executive, clinical and administrative leaders and providers to identify issues that create barriers to the flow of value to customers. Interfaces and participates with internal groups like Medical Staff, BOD, and other Executive Boards. Services as a liaison with external entities such as third-party payers, regulatory agencies, other health care institutions, vendors, patients and families. Trains, leads, facilitates and supports cross-functional teams charged with the responsibility of improving/re-designing systems and processes critical to Primary Care Services. Establishes the measurement criteria for and reviews the performance of PCP division on an ongoing basis, holds managers accountable for continually improving productivity, quality, and employee and patient satisfaction and provides appropriate reports to System Leadership. Oversee the preparation of, and/or assists in the preparation of capital and operational budgets for assigned areas and facilitates teams working to improve performance on goals. Ensures that programs align with Lee Health strategic initiatives with emphasis on safety, customer service, and the overall patient experience. Responsible for maintaining high customer satisfaction, investigating and resolving related patient, physician, or other community complaints, and may serve as the liaison to related Lee Health departments. Oversee compliance with all regulatory bodies for designated areas. Work collaboratively with Physician Leadership, employed physicians, and community physicians & organizations to explore and leverage mutually beneficial opportunities to partner. Keeps the CAO informed of progress, issues, problems and successes.
RequirementsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business administration or related field required. MHA or MBA required.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years’ experience in health care administration with progressive responsibility for development of business plans from concept to operations. Demonstrated ability to see the big picture and convince and motivate others to make changes for the better of the system. Knowledge and experience with performance improvement principles and tools, leadership and facilitation of projects to achieve desired goals, and mobilizes teams across functional areas to execute plans. Strong knowledge of the people and information flows across healthcare settings. Experience with physician recruitment and retention strategies.
