Bander Operator - 2nd Shift

Description:

SUMMARY

Positioning of dunnage and strapping of units of corrugated sheets in accordance to customer requirements. Verify information and position of load tags. Edit tag information as necessary. Perform centerlining documentation and duties as assigned. This position is for 2nd shift 1:30 pm - 10 pm M-F, however all new candidates will be required to train on 1st shift for 2-4 weeks prior to transitioning to 2nd shift.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Keep bander line moving.
• Monitor strapping supplies and reorder as necessary.
• Perform centerlining checks and documentation as assigned.
• Operate unit centering device, conveyor lines, and bander in safe manner.
• Assist maintenance in preventive maintenance of bander and conveyor lines.
• Operate plant PC’s as assigned.
• Verify authenticity of load tag information. Make changes as necessary.
• Check quality and presentability of units on line.
• Provide assistance to other areas of corrugator as assigned.
• Utilize for cross training other employees.
• Follow plant procedures on tracking overrun waste.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, including keeping dunnage area organized.
• Assist in operation of shredder as necessary.
• Replace absenteeism and vacation positions on corrugator as assigned.
• Other tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED.

Experience

• Previous experience in the corrugated industry is helpful.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to read tape measures and perform basic mathematical calculations
