About the Role
Spiegelworld is looking for a Porter (Theater and Restaurant Cleaner) to join the team at the Hook within Caesars in Atlantic City. The Porter is responsible for providing friendly, courteous service to guests while cleaning in their assigned area. The Theater and Restaurant Porter fulfills all deep cleaning, and scrubbing assigned areas. Porters can be expected to perform tasks ranging from disposal of trash, cleaning the restroom, offices, restaurant, theater, and bar areas, window cleaning, floor clearing, and other tasks assigned. The Porter will also be responsible for ensuring the venue is cleaned in between the bi-nightly performances. Also, must display a strong commitment to customer service through the delivery and maintenance of our Service Standards, Safety & Accident Procedures and Standard Operating Procedure. The Porter will be part of a front of house team that is committed to providing the best customer experience. This position reports to the Ticketing and Venue Manager. This is a full-time position that pays $22/hour.
What You’ll Do
- Ensure quality and cleanliness of floors, stairs, mirrors, glass, and assigned areas.
- Perform daily services in assigned areas, including vacuuming, restroom cleaning, ash/trash urn maintenance, dusting, and sweeping.
- Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace.
- Create a work environment which promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.
- Mop, sweep, and clean restrooms to include sink and mirrors - walls, toilets, etc.
- Monitors bathrooms to ensure that they are clean and orderly at all times.
- Obtain necessary cleaning supplies from the supply room and notifies management when supplies need to be ordered.
- Quickly respond to biohazard incidents such as urine, blood, vomit, feces, etc.
- Maintain equipment and supplies in a clean and safe manner.
- Reports maintenance needs and emergency repairs to the Supervisor promptly.
- Ensure protection against the unauthorized access and theft of confidential or sensitive data, specifically privileged information.
- Turn in all lost and found items to security within a reasonable timeframe.
- Safely perform all job duties using personal protective equipment.
- Comply with all department policies/procedures and service guarantees.
- Attends all training classes as requested.
- Provide courteous, efficient, and prompt service to guests following established hospitality standards, including making eye contact, smiling, and offering a warm and friendly greeting using appropriate language.
- Respond to inquiries from fellow employees and/or guests.
- Check with the manager before the end of each shift.
- Participate in pre-service and closing duties as required.
- Adhere to established grooming and appearance standards, including maintaining a clean and well-maintained uniform.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Spiegelworld policies, practices, and procedures.
What You Bring
- At least six months of related experience in a theater, bar, lounge, nightclub, or full service restaurant in a luxury setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Passionate about guest service and delivering the best guest experience each and every time.
- Work calmly and efficiently under pressure.
- Ability to initiate conversations with others in a polished, professional manner.
- Must be teamwork oriented and self-motivated
- Effectively communicates verbally with staff, while reading, speaking and fully comprehending English
- Comfortable improvising in the moment as part of the guest experience.
- Maintaining any necessary licensing and work cards required, present and future. Must maintain proper safety and sanitation standards.
- Successful background check clearance prior to hire.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Must have valid work authorization for the US.

- Work is performed in a high volume professional food service and theater environment.
- Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
- Requires prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.
- Able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours
- Hazards may include, but are not limited to, slips, falls
- Requires transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Requires eye/hand coordination.
- Ability to comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (MSDS) and other instructions.
- Work requires ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds. Must bend, reach, stoop or kneel; climb, ascend and descend stairs; maintain equilibrium.
- Work requires visual abilities needed to safely operate motorized equipment.
- Work requires attention to detail and must have visual capabilities needed to inspect work upon completion to avoid leaving deficient work.
- Ability to receive instructions and hear inquiries from guests, clients, or staff.
- Ability to maintain a consistent pace throughout the shift.
