This role is a hybrid position responsible for performing intermediate-level diesel mechanical service and commercial tire repair in a fast-paced, industrial shop environment. The Diesel Service Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the safety, reliability, and operational readiness of fleet vehicles and equipment./ppThe ideal candidate possesses hands-on diesel service experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and working knowledge of commercial tire systems. This position requires independence, attention to detail, and the ability to execute preventative maintenance and repairs while supporting shop efficiency and operational uptime./ppbr//ppemstrongResponsibilities/strong/em/pulliPerform diesel service and intermediate-level mechanical repairs including brakes, suspension, steering components, belts, hoses, batteries, and basic drivability concerns./liliConduct commercial tire services including mounting, dismounting, balancing, repairing, rotating, and replacing tires on diesel trucks, trailers, and applicable fleet equipment./liliPerform preventative maintenance services such as oil changes, fluid inspections, filter replacements, and multi-point vehicle inspections./liliDiagnose mechanical and tire-related issues using visual inspections, service documentation, and basic diagnostic tools./liliAccurately document repairs, labor, and parts usage in work orders or electronic maintenance systems./liliInspect vehicles and equipment for safety concerns and report deficiencies to shop leadership promptly./liliMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company safety standards and OSHA regulations./liliAssist with inventory control related to tires, parts, tools, and shop supplies./liliCoordinate with service writers, shop management, and operations staff to support efficient workflow and job prioritization./liliFollow all environmental, safety, and operational policies and procedures./liliParticipate in continuous improvement efforts related to shop efficiency, service quality, and safety performance./liliPerform additional duties and projects as assigned based on operational needs./li/ulpbr//ppRequirements/ppemstrongQualifications/Knowledge/Critical Skills/strong/em/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent required./liliMinimum of 2–4 years of hands-on diesel service or heavy-duty vehicle maintenance experience./liliDemonstrated experience with commercial tire service and repair./liliWorking knowledge of diesel vehicle systems including braking, suspension, steering, and preventative maintenance./liliAbility to safely operate tire machines, balancers, hand tools, power tools, and standard shop equipment./liliStrong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail and quality workmanship./liliAbility to read and follow work orders, service procedures, and safety guidelines./liliAbility to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environment./liliReliable attendance, strong work ethic, and professional attitude./liliValid driver’s license required; clean driving record preferred./liliASE certifications, air brake knowledge, or CDL experience are a plus but not required./li/ulpemstrongPhysical Demands/Environmental Factors/strong/em/pulliRegularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and use hands and arms for extended periods./liliFrequently required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 75 pounds./liliWork is performed in a shop and yard environment with exposure to noise, dust, grease, weather conditions, and industrial equipment./liliSpecific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus./li/ulpemstrongCompensation/strong/em/ppThe Diesel Service Technician position offers an hourly compensation range of $25.00 to $28.00 per hour, dependent upon experience, skill level, and qualifications.
