While the list below describes the primary functions of this job, all employees need to recognize that an essential element of their job is the ability to respond to unanticipated and/or changing situations.  This may result in assuming responsibilities or tasks which are not on this list./pp/ppspanAs part of the In-House Construction Team, this position:/span/pullipRecommends materials and supplies needed for projects/work, requests supplies and maintains adequate levels of stock to eliminate lag time in projects./p/lilipViews the user group as the customer and collaborates with them to address their needs.  Does all possible to minimize the disruption associated with the required work./p/lilipIn the absence of the supervisor or manager, addresses any questions or issues identified by the inspection agencies as it relates to framing and carpentry related issues./p/lilipReads and interprets blueprints to ascertain layout, location and specifications of work to be performed./p/lilipAccurately measures and marks dimensions to minimize waste and optimize efficiency./p/lilipPerforms carpentry related tasks including but not limited to:/pullipReplacing, repairing and/or installing windows and doors/p/lilipReplacing ceiling tiles/p/lilipInstalling hardware items/p/lilipRepairing, changing and maintaining door locks/p/lilipAssembling items using glue, nails, and/or screws/p/lilipBuilding or modifying partitions and/or walls with metal or wood studs/p/li/ul/lilipWhen it is determined to utilize outside vendors/contractors, provides assistance and direction to help the project stay on schedule and within plan and required specifications./p/lilipDetects and reports improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to supervisor./p/lilipspanMaintains tools and equipment in an orderly and safe manner to ensure easy access and extended product life./span/p/lilipspanPerforms all required documentation accurately, legibly and timely. /span/p/lilipAssists with snow removal and other projects as requested by supervisor/p/li/ulp/ppbspanIn-house Construction Team:/span/b/pullipspanAssists the Construction Project Supervisor in calculating and proposing schedules and cost estimates for the project and makes recommendations on how to schedule multiple projects running concurrently./span/p/lilipspanCollaborates with Engineering leadership, user group, architect and engineers to review the carpentry portion of the project plans and uses trade expertise to make recommendations intended to improve the effectiveness of the project plan. /span/p/lilipParticipates in a team approach for the in-house construction team by performing cross functionally and assisting beyond typical trade boundaries but within licensure requirements.  Works closely with other members of the project team to assist the project to stay on schedule and within plan and required specifications./p/lilipRuns errands to pick up or deliver materials./p/lilipCarries materials throughout worksite as needed./p/li/ulp/ppbspanEngineering Team:/span/b/pullipResponds to pages to investigate and then resolve calls according to the program./p/lilipEstablishes and maintains an effective preventative maintenance routine and schedule that complies with and maximizes operations and facility safety./p/li/ulp/ppbMinimum Qualifications:/b/ppuEducation/u:/ppHigh School Diploma or equivalent/pp/ppuLicensure, Certification amp; Registration/u:/ppValid driver’s license/pp/ppuExperience/u:/ppAt least three (3) years of carpentry related trade work/pp/ppuSkills, Knowledge amp; Abilities/u:/ppFor safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team./ppAble to perform work with minimal supervision and/or direction./ppAbility to read blueprints involving framing, electrical, HVAC and plumbing./pp/pp/pp /pp /pp/ppbPay Range: /b/p$26.00 - $35.10p/ppspan style="color:#000000"The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time.
