pspan style="font-weight: bold"Position Summary: /span/p pThe Light Duty Operator supports asphalt paving operations by cleaning and preparing roadways for overlay, performing light equipment operation, general labor, and CDL truck driving responsibilities. This role is critical to achieving clean, well‑bonded, and safe paving surfaces and maintaining efficient crew operations./p pbr/p pspan style="font-weight: bold"Key Responsibilities:/span/p pbr/p pspan style="font-weight: bold"Roadway Cleaning Prep/span/p ul liPerform surface preparation: blowing, sweeping, pressure washing, brooming, edging/trimming shoulders, and removing vegetation, dirt, and debris./li liAssist with tack application support (set up exclusion zones, help with hose management, spot clean overspray)./li liSupport milling cleanup and pre‑pave inspections; mark out utilities/structures (manholes/valves) and protect them during paving./li liInstall/maintain traffic control (cones, signs, barricades) and perform flagging following MUTCD/crew procedures./li /ul pspan style="font-weight: bold"Equipment Operation (Light Duty)/span/p ul liSafely operate and maintain skid steer, walk‑behind/ride‑on brooms/sweepers, plate/roller compactors, air compressors, power washers, walk‑behind saws, and other small tools./li liConduct daily pre‑use inspections, basic maintenance (fluids, grease, cleaning), and report defects immediately./li /ul pspan style="font-weight: bold"CDL Driving Support/span/p ul liOperate water truck/tack support truck and other commercial vehicles as assigned (site transfers, water delivery for dust control/cleanup)./li liComplete pre/post‑trip inspections, maintain logs as applicable, and comply with FMCSA/DOT regulations./li liLoad/unload materials and assist with tool/equipment mobilization./li /ul pspan style="font-weight: bold"General Labor/span/p ul liAssist the paving crew with handwork, raking, shoveling, joint prep, and site housekeeping./li liSet up and break down work zones; maintain a clean, organized staging area./li liRespond to changing site needs and directions from the foreman./li /ul pspan style="font-weight: bold"Minimum Qualifications/span/p ul liValid CDL Class B (or A) with Tanker endorsement (N) required./li liHazmat (H/HM) endorsement preferred./li liClean MVR meeting company standards./li liAbility to pass DOT physical and drug/alcohol testing (pre‑employment and random)./li liHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred./li li1+ year experience in paving/roadway maintenance/construction or similar environment preferred./li /ul pspan style="font-weight: bold"Knowledge, Skills Abilities/span/p ul liWorking knowledge of roadway cleaning and overlay prep best practices./li liSafe operation of light equipment and hand tools./li liFamiliar with traffic control/flagging procedures; MUTCD awareness a plus./li liAbility to follow verbal/written instructions and complete checklists and basic logs./li liStrong teamwork, reliability, and attention to detail; safety‑first mindset./li /ul pspan style="font-weight: bold"Physical Demands/span/p ul liFrequently lift, carry, push, and pull 50–75 lbs./li liStand, walk, bend, kneel, climb in/out of equipment throughout the shift./li liTolerate outdoor conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise) and long hours as needed./li liVisual and auditory acuity sufficient for safe equipment operation and traffic awareness./li /ul pspan style="font-weight: bold"Work Environment/span/p ul liField‑based at active roadway construction sites with moving vehicles/equipment, uneven terrain, and variable weather./li /ul pspan style="font-weight: bold"Schedule Travel/span/p ul liFull‑time with frequent overtime; early mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends as project needs dictate./li liTravel between job sites with potential overnight stays./li /ul pspan style="font-weight: bold"Compensation Benefits/span/p ul liCompetitive hourly wage./li liBenefits package (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) with company match. /li /ul pspan style="font-weight: bold"Equal Employment Opportunity/span/p pWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
