The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient need, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the care delivery throughout the patient’s episode.  The Registered Nurse on 2 North develops specialized skill in the area of Cardiac Care including telemetry monitoring. The Registered Nurse on 2 North  also provides care to adult adolescent and geriatric populations with medical and/or surgical conditions. The 2 North  RN is accountable for patient family education to assist in understanding self care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing.
