pGNC's Store Manager in Training (SMIT) position is a development focused role that is crafted to prepare an individual to manage their own store. Under the leadership of a Store Manager or District Manager, this hands-on program will teach you the skills and knowledge needed to successfully operate your own store, drive for results, and develop and lead your team./p

pspanstrongThis is a Full-Time Hourly Supervisory Position/strong/span/p
pAs a SMIT, we are invested in your growth and expect you to be as well. The SMIT role is a fast track to management, providing work assignments and training opportunities to prepare you for promotion from a SMIT to a Store Manager. As a SMIT you will learn and be expected to lead, coach, and support your team to provide exceptional service and guidance to our customers. Alongside a Store Manager or District Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the store, including business performance, product management, and ensure your team has the tools to succeed. You will support your store as a management team member and lead in a manner that is consistent with GNC values and policies. In this key role, you'll represent the GNC brand by offering expert product knowledge and promoting our "Live Well" message to customers./p

liResponsible for actively engaging with your leader in training initiatives, projects, and goals to support you on your path to promotion during the program./li
liResponsible for supporting the total shopping experience, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the customer relationship that leads to sales and repeat business, i.e. MYGNC Rewards./li
liAbility to achieve and exceed personal sales and productivity goals, while helping sales associates to realize their sales potential./li
liAbility to build strong teams, demonstrate leadership, and managerial skills, such as giving feedback to store associates regarding work performance on an on-going basis, recruiting, hiring, and performance management./li
liOpening, closing and operating the retail facility. Including, but not limited to cash handling, inventory count and deposits according to GNC procedures./li
liAttending community fairs, conferences, meetings, and other public gatherings to promote the organization's mission and initiatives./li

pSelection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion into a Store Manager position. At the end of 90 days, your performance will be assessed and evaluated to determine your eligibility for promotion to a Store Manager position. This assessment will include a variety of factors, including but not limited to performance, availability of openings, and willingness to accept a promotion at any location in the designated market./p
pstrongEnvironmental Factors amp; Working Schedule:/strong/p

liMust be able to stand or walk for up to eight hours a day./li
liFrequent reaching and bending and twisting - below waist and above shoulders./li
liFrequently required to use repetitive hand-to-finger motions and reach with hands and arms./li
liFrequently lifting up to twenty pounds, occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds. Push/pull up to 20 lbs./li
liAbility to climb ladders, reach and bend./li
liWork in temperatures ranging from 50 - 85 degrees - especially in our stock room areas./li
liUse of a computer up to 60 % of the time throughout the day./li

pSMITs are expected to work five (5) days / forty (40) hours a week and adhere to the guidelines below:/p
ul
liSMITs of mall and strip center stores must work at least two nights during the week until closing, one weekend night and one other night./li
liStrip center SMITs must also work a full shift on Saturdays./li
liMall SMITs are expected to work peak business days including weekends (Saturday amp; Sunday)./li
liSMITs are expected to work a minimum of one full Sunday per month./li
liSMITs of downtown stores must also work during the lunch hour of 11am to 2pm Monday through Friday. Downtown SMITs must also work one night per week until closing if the store is open in the evening. SMITs of downtown stores are not required to work Saturdays./li
liSMITs are expected to work all major U.S. holidays that the store is open/li
