In order to become a Ryder employee you must:/strong ul liMust be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire/li liPass a Ryder Drug Test/li liPass a DOT physical/li liPass a Ryder road test/li liPass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years/li /ul/li /ul pstrongImportant Note: /strongSome positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned./p p /p h2Responsibilities/h2 ul liPerforms vehicle maintenance and repair duties/li liPerforms standard vehicle maintenance/li liPerforms standard component inspections and repairs/li liPerforms preventive maintenance/li liDiagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable/li liIdentifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required/li liReplaces defective components as instructed/li liPerforms facility maintenance duties/li liInteracts with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task/li liUtilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available/li liWorks in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)/li liPerforms other support duties as required to support operations.
