Applications will be reviewed in batches based on the date the application was submitted. /ibr /br /bPosition Objective/bbr /To participate in maintaining and improving Quarry Park and Nature Preserve by informing visitors of park rules, cleaning park facilities, and monitoring park trails and grounds. This position is responsible for ensuring the park is safe by reporting and responding to emergencies.br /br /bEssential Duties and Responsibilities/bbr /These examples do not include all possible responsibilities in this position and do not limit the assignment of related duties to this classification.br /br /1. Maintains grounds, buildings and provides a clean and safe environment.br /2. Performs minor maintenance to park and trail facilities.br /3. Opens and closes park entrance gate.br /4. Cleans buildings by washing ground floor windows, sanitizing washrooms, vacuuming, dusting blinds and furniture, and cleaning walls, floors, and storage areas.br /5. Patrols the park and provides rules and information to park visitors.br /6. Monitors visitor parking permits and issues parking violations to vehicles without parking passes.br /7. Stocks maps and parking pass forms.br /8. Waters plantings and brushes trails.br /9. Loads and hauls fill; picks up and hauls trash.br /10. Maintains all tools, equipment, and vehicles.br /11. Inspects and installs interior and boundary signage and trail barricades on closed trail segments.br /12. Reports damage and theft to park facilities.br /13. Contacts Sheriff#39;s Office in case of emergencies or situations that require law enforcement response.br /14. Monitors East gate.br /15. Guides Emergency Responders to accident locations.br /16. Interacts and cooperates with volunteers, park staff and other agencies.br /17. Completes required reports.br /18. Attends work regularly and in a timely manner.br /19. Performs other duties as assigned or apparent./pp/ppbMinimum Qualifications/bbr /In order to be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following:/pulliMust be at least 18 years of age or will be by May 1st of the current year/liliPossess a valid MN driver#39;s license/liliAbility to work weekends, holidays and late afternoons until after sunset/li/ulp/ppiPreferred Experience Beyond Minimum Qualifications:/i /pulliMaintaining buildings and grounds/liliMaintenance and operation of utility vehicles, ATV#39;s, spin trimmers, and mowers/liliWorking alone or with minimal supervision/liliEnforcing rules in a public setting /liliFirst aid training and CPR certification/li/ulp/ppbDesirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities/bbr /1. Ability to effectively and reliably perform routine building and grounds maintenance.br /2. Ability to communicate with the public and tactfully inform park visitors of park rules.br /3. Ability to exercise good judgment when performing maintenance activities.br /4. Ability to be self-motivated when performing responsibilities.br /5.
