Caregivers in this unit care for patients with strokes, pneumonia, FTT, weakness, confusion, sepsis, PEG care, central lines, multiple antibiotic therapies, blood transfusions, IV push/cardiac drip medications and tracheostomy care. As a Nurse Technician in this unit, you will assist with direct patient care activities under the supervision of an RN.   br / /ppbA caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) varying shifts. You must work 64 hours in the summer months./b/pp/ppA caregiver who excels in this role will:  /pulliProvide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN. Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.    /li/ululliReport abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to RN.  /li/ululliAssist with keeping patients#39; rooms clean amp; orderly. /li/ululliComplete mandatory education and training to maintain organization and department-specific competencies and requirements. /li/ulp/ppMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  /pulliNursing student in good standing in an accredited nursing school program OR unlicensed graduate of an accredited nursing school program /li/ululliBasic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross prior to hire/li/ululliMaintain competencies specific to patient population served /li/ululliSatisfactorily complete hospital orientation /li/ulp/ppPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  /pulliStrong interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff /li/ulp/ppbPhysical Requirements:/b/pulliRequires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking./liliMedium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force rarely, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force occasionally to move objects./liliPhysical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work./li/ulp/ppbPersonal Protective Equipment:/b/pulliFollows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required./li/ulp style="text-align:inherit"                       /ppThe policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
