divspanAstera Health is currently accepting applications for a Temporary Medical Scribe at the Wadena Clinic. This position is a temporary position with an established end date of strongJuly 31, 2026/strong. Any extension beyond this date is contingent upon staffing needs and is not guaranteed./spanspan     /span/div div /div divspanThis position can work up to 24 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm./span/div div /div divspanResponsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: /span/div divspan /span/div ul lispanAccompanies the practitioner into the patient examination area in order to transcribe findings in real time as the provider evaluates the patient/span/li liDocuments the following items, as dictated: ol liHistory of the patient’s chief complaint as given by the patient and communicated by provider./li liReview of Systems (ROS) and physical examination as given by patient and communicated by provider./li liPatient orders, laboratory tests results/needed, imaging tests results/needed, etc./li /ol /li liCompletes procedures notes on behalf of the provider as directed/li lispanEnters documentation on patient progress as directed by provider/span/li lispanLists proper diagnosis/level of service as well as any discharge and/or follow-up instructions as dictated by provider/span/li lispanReviews the record and verifies that the documentation requirements have been met for the designated code assigned./span/li lispanFollows documentation compliance standards/span/li lispanWhen the provider concludes the patient’s encounter, the provider will review all documentation completed by the Scribe, make any necessary amendments, and sign the chart. The provider is ultimately responsible for documentation of the patient’s encounter./span/li lispanScribes do not participate in any patient care and should refer all requests related to patient care to the responsible provider or nursing staff; including, but not limited to, transporting specimens, answering phones, assisting patients, calling physicians, etc./span/li lispanDevelop and maintain a mutually respectful working relationship with all providers/span/li lispanBe available for provider concerns and questions and is ready to assist in documentation at all times/span/li /ul div divspanCompetencies required include:/span/div ul lispanDemonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to document patient care as dictated by a provider in a legible and clear manner, follow all local, state and federal guidelines for documentation/span/li lispanKnowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology/span/li lispanAbility to work well under pressure and maintain attention to detail in order to accurately document encounter/span/li lispanDemonstrated observation, listening, interpersonal and clarification skills in order to interact positively and productively with provider and patient/span/li lispanAbility to effectively operate standard office equipment and software/span/li liStrong oral and written communication skills/li liDemonstrates a high degree of commitment to customer service excellence/li liPossess cross-cultural sensitivity/li liAbility to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, building strong relationships/li liAbility to perform tasks both collaboratively and independently/li liDemonstrates concern for patients of all ages, visitors, and co-workers/li liMaintains confidentiality of information and privacy compliance/li /ul divRequired Qualifications:br /Education:/div ul liHigh School Diploma or GED/li /ul pExperience:/p ul li2 years of experience in related work; Or combined years of relevant education and experience to perform the essential duties of this position./li /ul pstrongPhysical Requirements:/strongbr /Medium Duty: exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally or 10 to 15 pounds of force frequently or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects (based on U.S. Department of Labor data).
