Casting Machine Operator - 1st Shift

pDescription/ppstrongWages and Hours/strong/pullistrongBase Pay:/strong $22.50 +, based on relevant experience/lilistrongWork Hours:/strong 6am - 4pm, Monday - Thursday/li/ulpstrongPrimary Functions/strong/ppSet molds and operate permanent mold casting machines and assist on setups and maintenance under general supervision./ppbr//ppstrongDuties and Overall Responsibilities/strong/pulliOperate permanent mold casting machines to produce quality castings to specifications/liliPerform basic setup procedures under general supervision/liliHandle all mold treatments and placing of cores/liliPour metal into molds, vary pouring procedures/timing to compensate for material and mold condition/liliCheck first pieces and correct variations/liliTend furnaces – load charge and maintain temperatures/liliMount, align and secure molds/liliMake hydraulic power connections, set temperature controls and machine stroke/liliClean and coat molds/liliFollow detail process sheets for methods and sequences to close and pour molten metal at proper temperatures, flow rates and cycle time to obtain sound castings/liliInspect pieces and recognize surface defects, short fills, distortion or quality defects/liliAdjust temperature and machine to correct variations/liliPerform finishing work on raw pieces, such as trimming, deburring, grinding/liliPerform routine maintenance/liliPerform other duties as assigned/li/ulpstrongPhysical Requirements/strong/ppThe physical requirements for this position require continuous standing and intermittent walking, bending, sitting, and lifting of parts that may at times be in excess of 50 pounds. strongThis is a hot environment that can reach up to 130 degrees in the summer./strong The Casting Machine Operator should have the physical and mental ability to perform the above necessary job functions while maintaining an exemplary safety record./ppbr//ppRequirements/ppstrongSkills and Experience/strong/pulliBasic math skills – counting, adding, subtracting, multiplication, division/liliSolid work history/liliMechanical abilities/liliAt least six months experience in a manufacturing environment/li/ulpstrongEducational Requirements/strong/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent/li/ulpstrongPremier Aluminum is an E-Verify employer./strong/ppbr//p
