pDue to the popularity of this afterschool program specifically designed for military kids, we are hiring at our Marine Corp Kaneohe branch for an Operation Hero Facilitator. Make a difference in the lives of our military kids as we strive as an organization to help strengthen our military families./ppThis coming school year, Operation Hero will be held at our ASYMCA branch./ppThis position reports to: Branch Director/ppStatus: Seasonal/Part-Time - 12 weeks/4 hours a week (2xs per school year)/ppBasic Job Description: Responsible for the implementation and facilitation of the Operation Hero program for a group of eight elementary school age children. Candidates must commit to completing the ten-week program./ppPrimary Responsibilities:/pulliTake responsibility for undertaking the self-paced Operation Hero tutorial program to understand its purpose and delivery/liliRead the weekly lessons contained in the Armed Services YMCA Operation Hero Facilitator Guide and develop detailed lesson plans to be submitted a minimum of one week prior to program week/liliWork with the Branch Director to acquire suitable resources for the program#8217;s duration including a low cost snack following YMCA guidelines/liliRead student registration packets prior to the start of the first week to understand the basis for referral and family situation/liliCreate a workable spreadsheet including important information and emergency contact details/liliPrepare journals, folders, place cards and other classroom tools prior to the start of the program/liliMaintain an organized, safe, and clean program space/liliComplete all required documentation, to include but not limited to: attendance reports, weekly reports, supply requests, accident/incident reports, and behavior log reports/liliRespond to all suggestions/complaints in writing within 48 hours of receipt after consultation with the Branch Director/liliAttend weekly meetings based on the submission of the weekly report to identify effectiveness of the classes in an effort towards continual improvement/liliIncorporate the YMCA core values of caring, respect, responsibility and honesty into lesson plans as well as in your position as you represent the Armed Services YMCA/liliOther duties as assigned by the Branch Director to ensure excellence in delivery of the program/li/ulpRequired Qualifications:/pulliExcellent written and oral communication skills/liliMust have experience working with children in a group setting/li/ulpJob Type: Part-time/ppSalary: $18.50 per hour/ppSchedule:/pulliMondays 1:45-4:45 PM/liliWednesdays 12:45 - 3:45 PM/li/ulpEducation:/pulliHigh school or equivalent (Preferred)/li/ulpExperience:/pulliExperience with Children: 2 years (Required)/li/ulp/ppWork Location: One location/p
