You will prepare food products according to Gelson’s recipes and high quality standards.  /p pYour responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:/p ul liPrepare and present various items including salads, sandwiches, pizzas, pasta, dressings, entrees, and all catering offerings./li liPrepare both salad production from scratch as well as finishing previously prepared items./li liYou will prepare proteins, entrees, and side dishes that may include baking, frying, grilling, roasting, and steaming./li liYou must display a clear understanding of all cooking techniques and terminologies and monitor food quality to ensure Gelson’s standards./li liMonitor product quality, freshness, presentation, and ensure proper rotation of merchandise in accordance with store policy./li liSupport the kitchen department staff, ensuring a positive and collaborative work environment./li liProvide excellent customer service and respond appropriately in all customer interactions./li liEnsure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations./li liEmbrace new challenges and be a flexible team player, taking on responsibilities as needed./li liOther duties and responsibilities as required./li /ul pstrongQualifications:/strong/p ul liHigh school diploma or equivalent/li liPrevious experience in a grocery retail setting preferred./li liSuperior knife skills and strong working knowledge of food service operations./li liStrong organizational and multitasking skills./li liExcellent communication and interpersonal abilities./li liFlexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays./li /ul pstrongPhysical requirements:/strong/p ul liContinuous hand manipulation including, grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation/li liReaching above and at shoulder level frequently/li liStanding up to 8 hours per day/li liLifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. frequently/li liWorking near hazardous machinery (Slicer, mixer, knives)/li liWalking on uneven ground (Floor mats)/li liExposure to dust, gas, fumes (Oven, stove)/li liExposure to noise (Mixers, food processor)/li liExposure to extremes in temperature (Deli coolers, freezer, ovens)/li /ul pstrongHow to Apply:/strong/p pApply today and take the first step toward a rewarding career with one of Southern California’s most respected grocery chains.
